I am one of millions of men and women who put aside party affiliation (or am not affiliated). I am an American first, above all else. I cherish the unique American system of government, a republic. I know we are not a democracy. I know our founding fathers expressly decried the chaos that democracies create by trying to handle too many people, with too many opinions, and who have too many conflicts of interest.
